Next Week In China

We warmly welcome the new year for the financial markets as next week in China promises to be significant, with nine major data releases set to complete the economic picture for December.

There are only a few macroeconomic data releases scheduled over the holiday season that begins next week. The Hong Kong market will be closed for Christmas on Wednesday, 25 December up to 26 December, with afternoon trading on 24 December also ending early.

Next week will see multiple economic data releases in China. 

The pace of major economic data releases will pick up next week, with seven key points scheduled for release.

Next week will be quiet, as far as macroeconomic indicators are concerned, with only two major data releases scheduled for Mainland China.

Next week is expected to be relatively quiet regarding releases of major economic data. The manufacturing PMI figure for November will be released by the Chinese government at the end of the month, followed by the Caixin PMI that is part of the global S&P metrics, which will be published in early December.

The first week of November will see data on social financing, imports and exports, and CPI for October released to the public. In addition to these major data releases, the meeting of the National People's Congress warrants significant attention as concrete fiscal measures will be announced following the conclusion of the meeting. Congress is expected to follow through with the rollout of various stimulus measures announced by the central government. 

It will be another quiet week in terms of major economic data releases for China.
