Next Week In China

Next week, there will be significant data releases that include seven economic reports from mainland China. The markets in mainland China will remain closed on Monday due to the National Day holiday and will reopen on Tuesday.

Next week is the National Day Golden Week holiday in China beginning Tuesday, 1 October to Monday, 7 October. The market will be closed throughout this period to celebrate the founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

Following the Mid-Autumn Festival, Mainland China has scheduled the release of only one statistical report for next week.

Next week in September will be the Mid-Autumn Festival in China. Monday and Tuesday are public holidays, and the market will be closed. Therefore, only loan prime rates – which serve as the benchmark for pricing corporate and retail loans – are the only major economic data expected from mainland China.

Next week will be a significant week for data releases, with over 10 economic reports scheduled. In particular, the August consumer and producer price indices – which are key measures of inflation – as well as credit-related data, deserve extra attention.

There will be no major economic data releases from mainland China to begin September. However, the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) statistics from Caixin, which focuses on smaller private firms, also warrant attention as a supplement to the official government PMI data.
